911 Fire and Emergency Medical calls bring out Trinidad's Volunteer Fire Department - TVFD.
TVFD was established in 1952 and is still all volunteer- staffed.
Trinidad has a mutual-aid agreement with The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection - CAL FIRE

We practiced "Stop Drop and Roll" and explored Trinidad's "new" Engine with its loud air horn. We swapped stories of injuries in the Rescue Vehicle. We introduced the group to fully outfitted firefighters and saw that they're not so scary, even with their strange masks and breathing gear. It was a fun morning. I think there are a couple of future firefighters in this great group. -Cpt. Morgan
